Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Where should my family begin?
Browse PAIR Resources for an explanation or activity that fits your question. If you are unsure which skill to explore, try the free PAIR Literacy Pathway with your learner present. You can use the free articles and activities without buying a toolkit.
What is the PAIR Literacy Pathway?
It is a free, adult-guided PreK–5 pilot skills check and educational planning resource. It takes about 15–25 minutes and offers recommended next steps and practice activities based on what the learner demonstrates. It is not a standardized assessment, diagnosis, validated screener, or replacement for school-based assessment.
What does PAIR help families practice?
PAIR focuses on foundational literacy, especially noticing and working with spoken sounds, learning letters, connecting sounds with print, and reading accurately with appropriate pace and expression. Vocabulary, conversation, books, and early writing also have a place.
What is LITStart Essentials?
LITStart Essentials is an optional paid digital toolkit with guides, alphabet cards, an informal phonological-awareness observation resource, and a Google Sheets tracker. It provides supplementary practice with letters, spoken sounds, and early writing. It is not a complete reading curriculum or an individualized intervention.
How do I receive and use my files?
The family toolkit is delivered through an emailed download link that lasts 30 days. Download and save your files during that period. The tracker uses Google Sheets. Review the product's file formats, license, and usage instructions before purchasing. For access questions, email hello@pairprogramedu.com.
Do I need a teaching background? How soon will I see progress?
A teaching background is not required. For the Pathway skills check, follow its exact prompts and help rules. During practice activities, model and adjust support as directed. There is no guaranteed progress timeline. Seek qualified guidance when concerns persist.
Can a school or organization share PAIR with families?
Yes. Share links to the free Resources page, articles, or Literacy Pathway. Paid toolkit files have separate license terms and may not be freely redistributed. Review the relevant institutional edition for use across a school, district, or organization.
Can I use the Pathway without buying anything?
Yes. The PAIR Literacy Pathway is free during the pilot. You do not need to buy LITStart Essentials or book a service to use it or explore PAIR’s free articles and activities.
What if I already have a booking or an older package?
Refer to your original confirmation and contact PAIR with questions about a previous purchase or agreed support. PAIR’s current free resources do not change the terms of an existing agreement.
